Why is breastfeeding better for you baby?

Your midwife and pediatrician will tell you that breastfeeding is best for you and your baby, and research over the past few decades prove that when it comes to nutrition for your infant breastfeeding is best.

A mother’s breastmilk is specifically made for ultimate balance of nutrition for you baby, it contains uniquely complex combination of nutrients that we are currently unable to duplicate artificially, along with antibodies protecting them from a number of illnesses.

According to a report by the US Breastfeeding Committee summarizing current research around the benefits of breastfeeding compared to formula feeding babies.

Breastfed babies:
-are generally healthier, and when they do get sick they have fewer symptoms and are sick a shorter time.
-are less likely to catch and suffer from infectious illness and their symptoms like diarrhea, ear infections and meningitis.
-are less likely to contract food and waterborne illness like salmonella.
-score higher on cognitive and IQ tests at school age.
-if they are breastfed for at least four months and have a family history of juvenile onset diabetes they have a lower risk to suffer from it.
-have a lower incidence of SIDS.
-have a lower list of the two most common inflammatory bowel diseases.
-are less likely to suffer from some forms of cancer including childhood leukemia.
-are significalntly protected against asthma and eczema.
-have lower risk of childhood and adolescence obesity.
-are less likely to require braces.

Thank you for breastfeeding you baby!
